HIRING MANAGER CONSULTANT SCOPE OF WORK
Battleground Alliance seeks a Hiring Manager Consultant to lead rapid, high-volume recruitment for field department positions. This temporary engagement requires someone who moves fast, identifies talent quickly, and manages concurrent hiring processes across multiple roles and locations.
ABOUT BATTLEGROUND ALLIANCE
Battleground Alliance is a multi-entity coalition (PAC, 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(3)) with a $50 million fundraising goal, we work across congressional districts to build coalitions, support grassroots organizing, and drive strategic voter engagement. We strengthen democratic institutions and civic participation through data-driven field operations, strategic communications, and coordinated partnerships.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
District-Level Hiring
Manage hiring for in-district teams across Battleground Alliance’s congressional districts; staffing levels will vary depending on district variables and will likely include a mix of some of the following roles: district director, training coordinator, data coordinator, coalition coordinator, relational coordinator, communications consultant. Staffing levels are being determined by the campaign now, and will be dependent on a range of factors typical to campaigns. We want the Hiring Manager to have input in our staffing design.
Process Management
- Maintain organized tracking for all open positions and candidate pipelines
- Coordinate interviews efficiently across multiple time zones and stakeholders
- Ensure consistent candidate experience with timely communication
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks quickly
- Develop job descriptions and SOWs in collaboration with BA Campaigns
- Provide regular updates to campaign leadership on hiring progress and pipeline health
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in high-volume recruitment, ideally in campaign or political organizing settings
- Strong understanding of field organizing roles and what makes candidates successful
- Exceptional organizational skills managing multiple concurrent processes
- Ability to assess candidate quality and cultural fit quickly
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Objectivity and thoughtfulness in applicant review
- Self-directed work style with minimal oversight needed
- Comfort with rapid decision-making and adapting processes as needs evolve
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems
Preferred
- Multi-state or distributed hiring experience
- Knowledge of national and state progressive infrastructure

- Meeting campaign timelines for time-to-hire
- Quality of hires as assessed by campaign management
- Healthy, diverse set of candidates
- Clear process and communication throughout
CONTRACT TERMS
Duration: Immediate start through April 30, 2026
Compensation: $15,000 per month (pro-rated for partial months)
