National Institute for Reproductive Health - President

Remote
Full Time
Senior Executive
THE OPPORTUNITY

National Institute for Reproductive Health and National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund are seeking a fearless and visionary President to lead the organizations in our urgent fight to protect and advance reproductive rights and justice for all. The new President will have a singular opportunity to build on the exceptional legacy that NIRH has forged, working tirelessly in states and cities across the country to ensure that everyone has equal access to safe and affordable reproductive healthcare, including contraception and abortion.

Today, NIRH’s work is more important than ever: the new President will take the helm as the nation faces unprecedented challenges to reproductive freedom and justice. When the Supreme Court dismantled our reproductive rights, it became clear that going forward we must depend on our state and local elected officials to protect and advance our fundamental freedoms.

NIRH’s President will serve as a bold, inspirational leader, trail-blazing strategist, dynamic fundraiser, powerful communicator, tireless campaigner, and a passionate defender of every person’s right to control their reproductive freedom. This is an incredible opportunity to lead the next chapter of NIRH as we continue our work to fiercely advance reproductive rights and justice for all.

ABOUT NIRH

NIRH fights for just and equitable access to reproductive health care in states and cities across the nation. NIRH and the NIRH Action Fund take an unapologetic approach to reproductive health, rights, and justice. We work to expand access to reproductive health care, including abortion care, by partnering with communities and campaigns across the country to advance a positive vision of reproductive freedom by passing proactive policies. We don’t just push back against restrictions on reproductive autonomy; we fight for a society in which everyone has the freedom and ability to control their reproductive and sexual lives.

NIRH’s strategy is to go on the offensive and focus on communities where change is needed and where we can make a difference. We work hand-in-hand with state and local reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations and other groups that are invested in the fight to pass laws that expand access to abortion and contraception and advance health equity. NIRH Action Fund works in parallel to change state and local electoral and policy landscapes.

NIRH and NIRH Action Fund’s approach to advocacy, policy, and politics strives to center the people who are most impacted by barriers to care: historically underserved and often under-represented communities, including Black women and Black communities, Indigenous, Latine, AAPI and other communities of color, low-income people, and immigrants.

We have partnered with more than 200 reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations in 43 states. Through bold advocacy, creative education campaigns, and high-impact partnerships, we have expanded health equity in states and cities across the country.

In our work with partner organizations, NIRH and NIRH Action Fund fight for the most important issues in the reproductive rights and justice movement. This includes fighting to protect and expand access to abortion, increasing contraceptive access, decriminalizing abortion, establishing fundamental reproductive rights, advancing birth justice, and funding abortion care. We do this work to create a nation where everyone can determine the course of their reproductive and family lives with dignity and joy.

Today, NIRH has expanded our fight to new states and cities, helping others across the country push forward to protect and advance reproductive freedom. NIRH is the only national group working hand-in-hand with partner organizations on the ground across the country, expanding reproductive freedom everywhere.
