Grossman Solutions is seeking a Search Associate to join our expanding Executive Search practice.

The Search Associate will play a key role in the entire lifecycle of the search processes, including research and analysis, candidate identification, interviews and client relations. The Associate will anticipate client needs for each search and collaborate with team members in the development of effective search strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver top-level customer service to all clients, prospective clients and candidates
  • Schedule and coordinate a high volume of meetings and calls with a variety of stakeholders
  • Conduct research to identify strong potential candidates, using public and subscription-based websites and other online channels
  • Draft and edit search documents, including candidate profiles, position profiles, memos, and other key deliverables
  • Maintain and update internal database in a timely fashion
  • Participate in client meetings and calls, note taking and tracking action items 
  • Help ensure superior client and candidate experience throughout the course of a search
  • Handle sensitive information with appropriate discretion and strict confidentiality
  • Represent clients in a professional and ethical manner

Key Qualifications, Characteristics and Competencies

  • At least four years of experience in advocacy, campaigns, politics, labor unions, nonprofits, or business
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish strong, positive relationships with clients and candidates
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong internet research skills 
  • Excellent writing and note-taking skills with the ability to synthesize notes into memos and other client materials
  • Team-player with a willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team and projects move forward; responsive and flexible
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
  • High level of comfort with technology; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Dedicated, demonstrated commitment to social, racial and economic justice
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Structure and Location 

The Search Associate reports to the Managing Director of Search and Recruitment.  

This is a full-time position, preferably based in Washington D.C. Additional locations will be considered for candidates who meet all desired qualifications and are available to work east coast hours. 


The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 based on experience.
